Confirm the current legal-entity address before retrying
Compare the company’s current official address with the address in the D-U-N-S record and the address used by the platform. If the company moved, update the existing record instead of creating a new D-U-N-S request simply to reflect the new address.
Why an address mismatch happens
Common causes include a company move, an old headquarters address, different suite or building information, a branch address being used instead of the legal entity address, or a platform pulling organization information from another profile such as Google Payments.
Check the correct entity and location
D-U-N-S numbers are associated with business entities and locations. Groups with multiple entities or locations can therefore have more than one relevant record. Verify that the number and address belong to the same legal entity that is being registered with Apple, Google or another organization.
Update the record if the business moved
Dun & Bradstreet notes that lookup failures can happen when the address in the company profile no longer matches the search information. If the address is outdated, request an update to the existing business information and retain official evidence of the current address.
Do not retry too quickly after an update
Third-party synchronization can take time. Apple currently says updated D&B information can take up to 2 business days to reach Apple. Repeated attempts before synchronization is complete can make it difficult to distinguish a data problem from a timing problem.
